Nach meinem letzten Mark Lanegan Konzertbesuch und dem darin gro\u00df aufgespielten Hit \u201eCrawlspace\u201c ist es an der Zeit, endlich auch die Screaming Trees in die Liste der (un)vergesslichen Indiehelden aufzunehmen.<br \/>\nDie Screaming Trees waren Mark Lanegans erste Band. 1985 gr\u00fcndete der S\u00e4nger sie zusammen mit den Conner Br\u00fcdern und Schlagzeuger Mark Pickerel in unmittelbarer N\u00e4he zur Westk\u00fcstenstadt Seattle. 1987 ver\u00f6ffentlichten sie erste St\u00fccke auf SST, dem damaligen Label schlechthin. Ihre Musik war eine Mischung aus Rock, Hardrock und Punk. Man k\u00f6nnte auch Grunge sagen. Womit wir beim Thema w\u00e4ren: nicht wenige Menschen sehen in den Screaming Trees die Urspr\u00fcnge des Grunge. Sei es wie es ist. Sie kamen wie alles damals aus der N\u00e4he von Seattle und just dieser Umstand brachte den Screaming Trees die Szeneverpflechtungen ein. Chris Cornell produzierte ihr 5. Album, Lanegan arbeitete mit Mike McCready und Layne Staley im Projekt Mad Season, Dan Peters (Mudhoney, Nirvana) spielte mal f\u00fcr ein knappes Jahr 1991 Schlagzeug bei den ST.<br \/>\nDenn nach dem Majordeb\u00fct &#8222;Uncle Anesthesia&#8220; verl\u00e4sst Drummer Mark Pickerel die Trees, da er den bef\u00fcrchteten Mainstreamkurs der Band nicht mitmachen will, und wird \u2013 nachdem Dan Peters zwischendurch trommelte \u2013 1992 zu den \u201eSweet Oblivion\u201c Aufnahmen endg\u00fcltig durch Barrett Martin ersetzt. Schlagzeuger sind schon ein komisches V\u00f6lkchen. \u201eSweet Oblivion\u201c im \u00dcbrigen ist das beste ST Album, &#8222;Nearly Lost You&#8220;, &#8222;Dollar Bill&#8220;, und &#8222;No one knows&#8220; sind Hits, die den ST den Durchbruch brachten. \u201eNearly lost you\u201c brachte Ruhm und Geld. Die Screaming Trees geh\u00f6rten mit ihm endg\u00fcltig zur Alternative Nation und spielten in den USA die gro\u00dfen Konzerte. \u201cSweet Oblivion\u201c kann ich jedem blind empfehlen.<br \/>\n1995 kam kurzzeitig Josh Homme als Gitarrist mit ins Boot. Zu dieser Zeit war die Hochzeit der Band allerdings schon Vergangenheit. Ich kannte damals Leute, die das Label sst mochten und fast ausschlie\u00dflich Musik von Bands h\u00f6rten, die auf diesem Label waren. Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth, Soundgarden. An diesen Sachen kam ich Anfang der 90er nur schwer vorbei. Und da die Screaming trees auch auf sst ver\u00f6ffentlichten, war es nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis ich etwas von ihnen h\u00f6ren durfte. \u201eIvy\u201c bzw. \u201eAnthology: SST Years 1985-1989\u201c waren mein Erstkontakt. Der zweite Kontakt kam durchs Kino. Singles 1992, dieser wunderbare Film aus dem sp\u00e4ter die bl\u00f6de Friends Serie entwickelt wurde, war in den richtigen Momenten mit der richtigen Musik unterlegt. Ein Soundtrackohrenschmaus sondergleichen, und <a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xAUUxx94ias\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nearly lost you<\/a> von den Screaming Trees geh\u00f6rte dazu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Screaming Trees \/\/ Lieblingssong<\/strong><br \/>\n<a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lQ_jzlcgFDg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ivvvvvvyyyyyyyy<\/a> und <a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KwSWfvqCAAU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All i know<\/a> sind grandios!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Screaming Trees \/\/ Noch was?!<\/strong><br \/>\nDas ist mir entgangen:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On June 22, 2011, it was announced that an unreleased album that the band recorded in 1998 and 1999 would finally see the light of day.
