Wie war es denn nun im Palladium? Nun, w\u00fcsste ich es, dann k\u00f6nnte ich es sagen. Da ich aber den gestrigen Abend noch nicht einordnen kann, muss ich um den hei\u00dfen Brei herumreden. Es war gut, es war wie Premier League Fu\u00dfball in den 90ern, bevor die ausl\u00e4ndischen, naja vornehmlich franz\u00f6sischen Fu\u00dfballer, Spielkultur auf die Insel brachten. Es war wie Ryan Giggs<\/strong> und Paul Scholes<\/strong>. Laufen bis zum umfallen.
Franz Ferdinand<\/strong> spielen voller Energie und so kraftvoll, dass das Publikum sofort auf ihrer Seite ist. Kick and rush. Dass dabei nicht jeder Ton und jedes Zuspiel sitzt, ist egal und interessiert mich live eh weniger. Begeisterung und Enthusiasmus sind entscheidend, nicht die Perfektion. Und hier liegen Franz Ferdinand<\/strong> ganz weit vorn. Wie sie nach nur drei Sekunden das Palladium zum h\u00fcpfen bringen, Hut ab. Das schafft nicht jeder. Die Kugel muss nach vorne, bzw. der Beat muss rollen. Doch der Beat hatte erst mal Pause.

Mit \u201eThe dark of the Matinee\u201c beginnt der Abend traditionell. \u201eNo you girls\u201d (Nummer 3) und wenig sp\u00e4ter \u201eLive alone\u201d, die ersten St\u00fccke von Tonight: Franz Ferdinand<\/em>, f\u00fcgen sich gut in ihre Umgebung ein. Die hie\u00df bis dato You could have it so much better<\/em>. Der Auftakt geh\u00f6rte somit dem zweiten Franz Ferdinand<\/strong> Album, vielleicht die erste \u00dcberraschung des Abends.
Als nach einer knappen halben Stunde Alex Kapranos<\/strong> seine Gitarre wechselt, kommt der Beat ins Spiel. Mit \u201eTurn it on\u201c f\u00fchle ich mich erstmals bei den ’neuen’\u201c‘ (keyboardlastigeren) Franz Ferdinand<\/strong>. \u201e40 ft.\u201c und \u201eBite hard\u201c unterstreichen die neue Spielausrichtung.
Sollte es so noch ein bisschen weitergehen? Bedingt, \u201eMichael\u201c unterbricht das Neue, und mit \u201eUlysses\u201c endet das regul\u00e4re Set urpl\u00f6tzlich nach 45 Minuten. Damit hat so recht keiner gerechnet. Jetzt schon?! Nun, ein Pausentee tut gut. Mittlerweile war es angenehm warm geworden und das laute Powerspiel der vier Glasgower hinterlie\u00df seine Spuren.
But the beat goes on! Vier Zugaben sollen folgen. Nummer eins, \u201eWhat she came for\u201c geh\u00f6rt hier hin. \u201eOutsiders\u201c und \u201eLucid dreams\u201c, das in einem minutenlangen Elektrogefiddel endet, irritieren mich. Beide h\u00e4tte ich nicht erwartet. Das finale \u201eThis fire\u201c hob nochmals so richtig ab und entlie\u00df uns nach guten 8o Minuten in den Abend.
Es war ein mitrei\u00dfender Abend, keine Frage. Franz Ferdinand<\/strong> sind eine tolle Band und ihre Livequalit\u00e4ten unbestritten. Aber irgendwas st\u00f6rte mich gestern Abend. Ich versuche es herauszufinden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
